On Monday, Leicester Crown Court was told communication data and evidence recovered from phones logged Ms Wandelt persistently asking Madeleine's mother for a biological test throughout that period.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - when she was three years old during a family holiday in Portugal - is considered the most widely reported missing child cases and remains unsolved.

'I Do Not Need Money'

One voicemail, presented in court, captured Ms Wandelt saying: "I realize I'm overweight and unattractive like Madeleine used to be, but I feel what I know."

While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's recording said: "Imagine there is a small chance that I am she? What then? Wouldn't that be important for you?"

"I am not seeking money, I maintain a life here in Poland, I simply desire to understand," the message continued.

The tribunal was informed that through emails, mobile messages and phone calls, Ms Wandelt asked for a biological test, forwarded early photographs to her phone in a attempt to demonstrate a likeness to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and asserted to have "memories" from a early life with the McCanns.

An intelligence analyst, an intelligence analyst with law enforcement who collated the data, advised the court there "showed no any responses" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt furthermore contacted family friends of the McCanns, as per the communication logs.

On that date, Mr McCann responded to a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "incorrect contact information."

That day Ms Wandelt recorded a recording on Mrs McCann's recording stating "I will persist and I plan to establish my claim."

The court learned Mrs Spragg developed a relationship online with Ms Wandelt prior to assisting her on a trip to the McCanns' property in that area in that winter.

Communication data demonstrated Mrs Spragg had communicated through messaging service to Mrs McCann to express the press had depicted Ms Wandelt as "a crazy person" but that she deserved to be taken seriously in the period leading up to the appearance to that location, the county, in December 2024.

The court heard correspondence between the two defendants, in last November, discussing trying to get Mrs McCann's genetic material from her trash or from cutlery at a restaurant.

"We have to make a stand," the co-defendant told Ms Wandelt.

On the occasion of the trip to their home, Mrs Spragg transmitted a message which said: "We find ourselves sitting adjacent to the McCanns' residence with our lights out similar to investigators. I desired to do this with Peter Andrew I hadn't anticipated I would be engaged in this with the McCanns."

The proceedings ongoing.
